This wine is a steal and the unique blend ofRousanne, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Viognier blend is intriguing. At first you are faced with pronounced oak and light citrus and tropical notes, with a very round and smooth mouth feel, due to the oak and probably MLF (malolactic fermentation). It is tasty but on the finish there is a subtle bitterness that some super tasters may be averse to. I used it when making a sauce that had a squeeze of lemon juice and it made the sauce very bitter. Sad face. So I did not use any more for cooking. Nevertheless, this is a good wine and goes really well with Indian and Thai dishes. $2.99
Viognier is a rare and lush grape with a golden hue and amazing floral scents. Honey Moon, really delivers those incredible aromas of peaches, apricots and honeysuckle flowers. I had this wine when I first met my love and it is aptly named.
An unbelievable deal.
Lovely, sexy and fresh. It is aromatic without being overly perfumey. Great sipping wine and is consistently refreshing and delicious. Really fantastic with seafood, hot or cold. Perfect for brunch. do not forget this wine just because we are heading towards serious fall. Tonight I had it with marinated teriyaki chicken breast tenders and a stir fry of broccoli, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, onions and ginger.
Held its’ own.
